Yes, EX-TRAFIRE® power supplies can be used for both hand-held cutting (for example, metal waste at a scrapyard or a recycling site), serial machine production or as a high-quality cutting system for repair or metalworking centers.
(EX-TRAFIRE® 30H is designed only for manual cutting with a torch firmly connected to the power supply.)
EX-TRAFIRE® plasma power supplies allow the cutting of all electrically conductive materials and non-ferrous metals such as black steel, aluminium, stainless steel, hardox etc.
A CNC cable is not included. A 6 m cable can be ordered as an accessory under part number EX‑0‑803‑004.
All our power supplies have an integrated GRID mode (automatic switching between the pilot and the main arc). There is no need for re-ignition (pressing of the torch trigger) when leaving the material.
No modifications are required. Every EX-TRAFIRE® power supply (with the exception of the EX-TRAFIRE® 30H system, which is fitted with an integrated handheld torch and is designed solely for handheld applications) is fitted with a 14-pin CPC connector for interconnection with a CNC cutting machine that provides internationally used signals:
EX-TRAFIRE® plasma power supplies feature automatic internal testing immediately after system startup. If a fault is found, its error code will appear on the display and the power supply will not start up until the issue is resolved. You will not find this safety feature on cheap plasma power supplies.
EX-TRAFIRE® power supplies from the SD (Standard) series were built for heavy use in production companies and during mass serial production. They are fitted with consumable parts with much longer life and thus offer higher efficiency compared to cheaper competition.
This function is most commonly used for preparing a material for welding, removing old welds etc.
